How We Work: The Three-Pillar Curriculum
We believe that change must be as holistic as the people leading it. Our school is designed to move students through a cycle of growth that turns personal restoration into collective power. At Athiri, healing is the atmosphere for change.
The Healing Pillar: Movement work can be exhausting, so we start with the heart. Through creative and clinical therapies—including music, ancestral recovery, and somatic circles—we address systemic trauma to ensure our community stays whole and sustained. Breath, Believe, and Build.
The Learning Pillar: We provide the intellectual tools for liberation. Our classes bridge the gap between historical movement wisdom and modern-day civic strategy, teaching our neighbors the art of healing and the science of power.
The Building Pillar: We apply our imagination to the material world. From issue-based campaigns to worker-owned cooperatives to mutual aid networks, we launch tangible projects that prove the forecast is change.
The Athiri Fellowship
“Dreaming out loud, building on the ground.”
The heartbeat of our school is the Athiri Fellowship. This five-month journey guides community leaders through a structured cycle of healing, learning, and building. We don’t just teach theory; we train the next generation of organizers to lead with empathy, strategy, and vision. We are a sanctuary for the healers and a school for the builders.
Our Commitment to Accessibility
To ensure the tools for change are never behind a paywall, Athiri uses on a pay-what-you-can model. All of our services—from clinical care to leadership training—cost as much as you can afford. We are a school of the people, funded by the people, and for the people.
